About the Role
This role involves designing civil infrastructure for a variety of development projects, from concept through construction documentation, with a focus on site grading, stormwater systems, and utility coordination.
Responsibilities
- Design site layouts for commercial, residential, and public developments
- Develop grading and drainage plans to manage stormwater runoff
- Coordinate utility design for water, sewer, and storm systems
- Prepare engineering drawings and construction specifications
- Review project plans for compliance with regulatory standards
- Conduct field surveys and site assessments
- Collaborate with surveyors, architects, and contractors
- Support permitting processes with local agencies
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months
- Experience with site grading, stormwater management, and utility design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software
- Strong understanding of local and state regulatory requirements
- Ability to prepare construction documentation and technical reports
- Project management experience on commercial or municipal developments
- Effective communication skills for client and team interactions
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and stormwater best management practices
- Familiarity with land development standards and zoning regulations
