About the Role

SpaceX is looking for a Civil Engineer, Land Development to join the Starship Launch Engineering team. You will design, build, and activate the essential infrastructure needed for orbital launch capability at our Cape Canaveral site, contributing directly to the mission of enabling human life on Mars.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial land development projects.
  • Perform all necessary calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater control, water quality, domestic water distribution, and other underground utilities.
  • Drive coordination and design to obtain local, state, and federal permits for land development and utility construction.
  • Manage civil aspects of field construction, including quality control, conflict resolution, and coordination of a multi-discipline contractor team.
  • Interact with contractors, fabricators, owners, and internal clients to develop project requirements, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or another engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in civil engineering design, analysis, and/or drafting.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in storm water management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development designs.
  • Understanding of other disciplines such as electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project management of major construction projects, including estimating, cost control, scheduling, and contractor management.

Team & Environment

You will be a member of the Starship Launch Engineering team, working closely with a group of elite engineers across multiple disciplines to enable launch capability.

Work Mode

This position is onsite in Cape Canaveral, FL.
