Responsibilities
- Process payroll data accurately and on schedule each pay cycle
- Verify employee time records for correctness and completeness
- Respond to payroll-related questions from team members
- Assist in resolving discrepancies in pay or hours
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information
- Collaborate with HR and management on payroll updates
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Track and report on paid time off usage
- Support audits by providing accurate payroll records
- Update employee data in payroll systems
- Monitor payroll system alerts and resolve issues
- Assist with onboarding new employees into payroll
- Reconcile payroll reports for accuracy
- Identify and correct data entry errors
- Maintain organized digital and physical payroll files
- Assist in year-end payroll reporting
- Follow internal controls for payroll disbursements
- Support workers' compensation and benefit deductions
- Ensure proper tax withholdings are applied
- Track overtime and special pay adjustments
- Assist with payroll training for managers
- Maintain consistency in payroll practices across locations
- Use software tools to generate payroll summaries
- Communicate payroll deadlines to department leads
- Support continuous improvement of payroll processes
