Role Overview
The Chief of Staff plays a central role in advancing the strategic direction of the Office of the Chief Investment Officer (OCIO). Acting as a trusted advisor and operational leader, this individual ensures that investment strategies are clearly defined, effectively communicated, and rigorously executed. The role bridges vision and delivery, translating complex financial and organizational priorities into actionable plans across teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee analysis and reporting for the $120 billion General Account portfolio, maintaining accuracy across asset classes, legal structures, and investment strategies.
- Develop executive-level materials that distill intricate investment data into clear, strategic narratives for leadership and governance bodies.
- Act as a primary point of coordination with core functional partners, including FP&A, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Investment Accounting, to align objectives and improve information flow.
- Support the integration of ESG principles across investment processes, including impact investing, disclosures, and compliance with reporting standards.
- Prepare and refine documentation for the Investment Committee and Board of Directors, ensuring strategic coherence and analytical depth.
- Lead strategic planning efforts across the OCIO, tracking progress on key initiatives and driving accountability through structured follow-up.
- Facilitate communication between the CIO and internal or external partners, strengthening decision-making across the investment ecosystem.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring at least five years of experience in investment analysis, financial planning, or reporting roles within large-scale organizations. A strong foundation in finance, insurance, or asset management is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects under tight timelines.
Success in this role requires advanced analytical thinking, the ability to synthesize cross-functional data, and strong communication skills tailored to senior audiences. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required to build data-driven narratives that inform strategic decisions.
Work Environment

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $125,000 to $170,000, with opportunities for performance-based increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentives.
