What You'll Do
Shape the foundation of a new accounting firm by setting rigorous professional standards and ensuring technical excellence across all tax and accounting services. Lead quality control initiatives, including peer reviews and complex tax guidance, while establishing clear protocols that elevate firmwide performance.
Direct the integration of acquired practices, designing scalable onboarding frameworks and managing cultural alignment. Guide transitions from entrepreneurial models to structured, accountable organizations, ensuring leadership continuity and operational cohesion.
Own firm-level performance tracking, monitoring utilization, margins, client satisfaction, and retention. Coach emerging CPA leaders, define performance expectations, and promote a culture of continuous development and accountability.
Collaborate with automation and shared services teams to implement efficient workflows and measurable improvements. Help build a connected community of CPAs with a shared professional identity, strengthened by recognition and leadership empowerment.
Advise executive leadership on professional standards, client service innovation, and the strategic use of AI. Represent the firm with regulators, financial institutions, and investors, serving as the key liaison between traditional practice models and next-generation transformation.
Requirements
- Director-level or rising Partner from a Top 100, mid-market, or regional accounting firm
- Proven experience launching and scaling a practice from inception
- Track record in defining technical standards and quality assurance in tax and accounting
- Experience leading M&A integration and managing organizational change
- Background in managing firmwide KPIs: utilization, profitability, client satisfaction, and retention
- History of mentoring CPAs and setting performance benchmarks
- Collaborative experience with automation and shared services functions
- Ability to unify culture across independently operated firms
- Executive-level communication and external stakeholder engagement skills
- Strategic understanding of AI and automation in professional service delivery
