Parsons Transportation Group is hiring a Chemical Security Elimination Training SME - Part Time, On-call

About the Role

Parsons Transportation Group seeks a Chemical Security Elimination Training Subject Matter Expert to provide leadership for the development and execution of chemical security elimination training events under a large, complex international program. This is a Part-Time, On-Call role requiring some international travel.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, develop, and execute training events in international environments to train partner nation stakeholders in the detection, management, and destruction of chemical weapons and first responder incident management.
  • Support planning training events and developing event curriculum.
  • Act as a Senior Instructor or Instructor for courses, workshops, and exercises in the chemical security elimination arena.
  • Establish relationships with host country stakeholders and participate in meetings and training events in support of the U.S. Government client.
  • Prepare and calibrate chemical weapons detection equipment for use during training events.
  • Prepare After Action Reports to capture lessons learned for continuous curriculum improvement.
  • Work with Project Managers, Training Managers, and logistics personnel to plan events, prepare curriculum and equipment, and conduct training to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related technical/business field.
  • Typically 10+ years of related work experience, with at least 7 years conducting CSE training events for international projects for US Government customers.
  • Military experience in divisions such as Chemical Materials Activity (CMA) or Recovered Chemical Materiel Directorate (RCMD).
  • General technical background in chemical security elimination projects.
  • Experience preparing for and conducting training courses.
  • Must be willing to travel internationally.
  • Must be willing to work on a part-time-on-call basis.

  • International training experience.
  • Chemical incident first responder and incident management experience.
  • Experience working on Chemical Security Elimination Projects.
  • Experience working on chemical weapons destruction projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations, plus knowledge of current technology and its effective application.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, conduct presentations, and interface effectively with a diverse group of foreign officials, US government clients, engineers, scientists, and subcontractors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with field personnel tactfully and effectively.
  • Computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
  • Project Planning skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to direct and manage team members with day-to-day activities and special projects to assure timely completion.
  • Ability to manage distributed teams located in foreign countries.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $58.08 - $104.52

Work Mode

This role is onsite and requires international travel.
