About the Role
The engineer will lead the development and evaluation of chemical reactions, focusing on process efficiency, safety, and scalability within industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute laboratory-scale chemical reaction experiments
- Analyze reaction kinetics and thermodynamic parameters
- Optimize reaction conditions for yield and selectivity
- Develop scalable processes from lab to pilot stage
- Monitor and control reaction variables such as temperature and pressure
- Troubleshoot issues in reaction performance
- Collaborate with process safety teams to ensure compliance
- Maintain detailed experimental records
- Evaluate catalyst performance and stability
- Support process scale-up activities
- Interpret analytical data from chromatography and spectroscopy
- Propose modifications to improve reaction efficiency
- Work with cross-functional teams on process integration
- Ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations
- Contribute to technical documentation and reports
- Assess risks associated with new reaction pathways
- Utilize simulation tools for reaction modeling
- Validate reproducibility across multiple batches
- Implement green chemistry principles where applicable
- Stay current with advancements in reaction engineering
Nice to Have
- Master’s or higher degree in chemical engineering
- Experience in industrial chemical synthesis
- Background in catalysis research
- Familiarity with DOE methodologies
- Experience with automated reaction systems
- Knowledge of PAT (Process Analytical Technology)
- Prior work in pharmaceutical or specialty chemicals
