DaVita is hiring a Centralized Insurance Counselor II for a fully remote role. This patient-centered position provides critical education and guidance to DaVita patients about health insurance, helping them understand their options and make informed decisions to alleviate financial stress. You'll serve as a key resource across multiple dialysis facilities.
What You'll Do
- Conduct 100% telephonic patient insurance education while operating within established compliance parameters.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve the patient's insurance status to reduce financial risk and burden.
- Provide information to help patients find and secure options for insurance coverage and other financial assistance programs.
- Deliver a high level of customer service to patients across multiple DaVita Dialysis facilities.
- Complete insurance assessments/evaluations to accurately document education sessions.
- Act as a liaison between patients, facility teammates, billing office, and the corporate office to resolve patient insurance issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with field partners to ensure seamless patient support.
- Work closely with supervisor/manager to meet objectives, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Provide monthly reporting and analysis on key metrics related to patient education and advocacy.
- Seek opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed; may assist with onboarding and training of new teammates.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual/Spanish Speaking
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Nice to Have
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working with Medicare and Medicaid insurance, as well as commercial insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity)
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare organization working with clinical staff and patients

- Compensation: The Wage Range for the role is $20.00 - $30.50 per hour. New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $64,350.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $64,350.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $60,405.80/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $16.50/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $16.50/hour, Remainder of New York state: $15.50/hour Washington Exempt: $77,968.80/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $17.66/hour, Burien: $21.16/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.29/hour, Renton: $20.90/hour, Seattle: $20.76/hour, Tukwila: $21.10/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $16.66/hour
