Silgan Dispensing Systems is looking for a Cell Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing dispensing closures in a quality and cost-efficient manner, troubleshooting process problems, and performing any necessary changes to maintain productivity.
What You'll Do
- Ensure mold, assembly machine, and auxiliary equipment run to set standards.
- Perform hourly checks on caps and spouts based on product specifications.
- Conduct specified functional testing throughout your shift.
- Record all quality data and test results accurately.
- Troubleshoot problems within the production process and make authorized system changes.
- Take appropriate action to maintain production if problems are not repairable, including notifying appropriate individuals.
- Perform Mattec changes and process adjustments as needed.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed for mold line clearance and press clean down to prevent product contamination.
- Perform and document daily preventative maintenance, including cleaning mold faces, wiping assembly machine tracks, cleaning presses and conveyors, and validating assembly machines.
- Handle material tasks such as emptying and filing boxes, applying proper labels, handling color bins, scrap handling, and recording production and scrap for your shift.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean shop floor, complying with all safety standards and regulations.
- Keep a neat and orderly work area, ensuring walkways and aisles are clear.
- Perform general housekeeping duties like sweeping and trash removal.
- When work in your primary classification is not available, perform other duties according to your skill and availability.
