About the Role

This role is responsible for managing and validating clinical data within the charge description master, ensuring accurate billing, compliance with regulations, and consistency across systems. The analyst collaborates with IT, finance, and clinical teams to maintain data integrity and support revenue cycle accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the charge description master (CDM) with accurate billing codes
  • Validate clinical data mappings for consistency and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure system integration accuracy
  • Support audits by providing documentation and data verification
  • Identify discrepancies in charge capture and recommend corrections
  • Ensure CDM entries align with current coding standards and payer requirements
  • Work with clinical departments to verify service line data accuracy
  • Assist in onboarding new CDM items during system updates or expansions
  • Monitor changes in regulatory guidelines affecting charge capture
  • Participate in testing for electronic health record and billing system upgrades
  • Generate reports on CDM performance and data integrity metrics
  • Resolve cross-departmental data conflicts related to charge entry
  • Support revenue cycle teams with data clarification and corrections
  • Maintain documentation for CDM change control processes
  • Train staff on CDM policies and data entry best practices
  • Evaluate vendor-provided charge data for integration readiness
  • Track and report on CDM error rates and resolution timelines
  • Coordinate with compliance officers to ensure audit readiness
  • Standardize charge descriptions across service lines
  • Assist in CDM optimization initiatives to improve billing accuracy
  • Respond to internal requests for CDM data analysis
  • Ensure alignment between clinical workflows and charge capture
  • Support implementation of new billing systems or modules
  • Verify NDC and HCPCS code accuracy in the CDM
  • Facilitate communication between finance, clinical, and IT stakeholders
