Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Southern Region) is looking for a Cancer Nurse Coordinator/Specialist. You will work within our nationwide network to enhance the care and support provided to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This role focuses on improving links between primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare for patients with high needs, applying a specific rural lens to better support rural patients navigating the health system.
What You'll Do
- Work within Te Whatu Ora, utilising nationwide networks to improve cancer patient care and support.
- Improve links between primary, secondary, and tertiary health care.
- Work alongside patients with high health needs to support them in navigating the complex health system.
- Apply a 'rural lens' to improve the quality of the cancer journey for rural patients.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to build successful working relationships with a range of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant legislation and standards governing nursing and health care practice in New Zealand, including the Treaty of Waitangi and NZ Cancer Control Strategy.
- Ability to function collaboratively and autonomously, using advanced skills and judgement.
Nice to Have
- Understanding of primary health care.
- Community nursing experience.

- Salary: $116,040 - $127,674 per annum.
