The NCI Agency is hiring a Digital Collaboration Principal Technician (Voice) to join our team in Mons, Belgium. In this role, you will deliver 3rd level technical support for CIS services to our internal customers, focusing on the remote management and maintenance of the NATO voice infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Deliver 3rd level technical support of CIS services to internal NCI Agency customers.
- Perform remote fault diagnosis of CIS services and on call managers, session border controllers, and gateways.
- Execute remote routine maintenance of the static voice infrastructure, management appliances, and other NATO voice equipment.
- Direct the work undertaken by technicians and site technicians.
- Advise customer sites on voice element centralization, standardization, and best practices.
- Coordinate and perform configuration and evaluation of test scenarios within the NGCS reference facility.
- Assist in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures within the voice cell.
- Investigate and propose long-term solutions to encountered equipment and configuration problems.
- Conduct on-site surveys, validations, and system acceptance testing when required.
- Deputize for higher grade staff as necessary.
What We're Looking For
- Currently active NATO SECRET security clearance.
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post-related experience, OR a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience.
- At least 3 years experience implementing, managing, and optimizing collaboration tools and platforms.
- Good experience deploying communication and collaboration software (video conferencing, team messaging, document sharing).
- Extensive operation and configuration experience with Cisco call managers and Cisco Unified Border Elements (CUBE).
- High level operational and configuration knowledge of voice management appliances like Cisco Prime.
- At least two years experience with design, deployment and configuration of VoIP solutions.
- Experience with device management tools such as HP Network Automation, SolarWinds, or Intermapper.
- Very good knowledge of VoIP protocols and standards: SIP, TLS, MGCP, H.323, RTP (including codecs like G.711, G.729).
- Experience with VoIP integration with unified communications solutions (Microsoft Lync, Skype for Business, Cisco Jabber).
- Experience with virtual environments (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter).
- Experience in utilizing vendor toolkits for data collection and analysis for service improvement.
- Experience with design, deployment, testing and evaluation of session border controllers (Cisco CUBE).
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
- Experience in on-line performance, accounting, fault, security and configuration management of digital networks.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CISCO Call Centre Express (UCCX).
- Understanding of contemporary telecommunication technology including TDM.
- Basic knowledge of relational integrity and database design.
- Familiarity with military voice and data systems.
- Experience integrating communications systems with Active Directory and PKI technologies.
- Experience preparing technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Experience with monitoring platforms and protocols (CA Spectrum, SolarWinds, SNMP).
- Scripting experience, ideally in Python.
- Certified ITIL foundation.
- Prior experience working in an international environment comprising military and civilian elements.
