PCX Corporation is looking for a Buyer II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, reviewing purchase requisitions based on demand, and converting them into purchase orders. You will manage purchase order tracking, ensure on-time delivery, foster vendor relationships, and handle procurement for a variety of components.
What You'll Do
- Handle sourcing and review purchase requisitions based on demand and forecast, turning requisitions into purchase orders.
- Create purchase order tracking systems and ensure on-time delivery.
- Foster vendor relationships through negotiation, teamwork, and strong communication.
- Alert management when orders are filled and invoices from vendors are issued.
- Answer vendor questions and provide additional order documentation as needed.
- Perform planning and buying, inventory management, material follow-up, negotiation, vendor performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Select and develop suppliers, focusing on cost reduction, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Analyze and evaluate materials and products.
- Handle procurements for build-to-print parts after determining price and availability through formal and informal requests for quotes.
- Procure active components, passive elements, and electromechanical parts.
- Perform standard purchasing process, review requisitions, and place purchase orders.
- Negotiate with suppliers on conflicts and questions concerning pricing, delivery dates, quality, and required packaging.
- Verify receipt of materials and approve invoices for payment as required.
- Research and provide constant feedback to department and management regarding material shortages and supplier capacity and capabilities.
- Act as a liaison between vendor and engineering to evaluate technical questions.
- Prioritize with vendor and expedite material under lead time.
- Process non-conforming material requests and RMA requests with distributors and vendors in a timely manner.
- Maintain appropriate lead time and pricing in SAP.
- Handle multiple vendors and priorities with minimal supervision.
