Excelitas is looking for a Buyer to join our team in Montreal. In this role, you will be a key member interfacing with suppliers in pre-purchase and post-purchase activities, directly impacting our goal of becoming our Suppliers' Partner of Choice. You will be responsible for sourcing and business processes that secure the best supplier at the lowest overall cost.
What You'll Do
- Perform raw material sourcing.
- Manage all subcontracting and consignment business processes within SAP.
- Assist in the negotiation of consignment agreements.
- Act as expert on assigned Long Term Agreements (LTAs) & Contracts.
- Provide data analysis of historical and forward-looking purchases to identify potential savings.
- Enter purchase order information into the applicable ERP.
- Onboard new suppliers including all supplier contact, invoicing, and shipping information.
- Interface with Planning and Manufacturing Operations to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Coordinate return and replacement of materials based on Non-Conforming Material reports (NCMRs).
- Verify and approve freight invoices related to procurement.
- Support the Finance organization by negotiating favorable payment terms.
- Assist with adherence to ISO 9000 standards and requirements.
- Prepare various reports including monthly business metrics related to supplier performance.
- Take the lead for procurement activity related to new product transfers to the Montreal site.
- Coordinate the screening against the denied parties list for all suppliers.
- Verify suppliers are ITAR registered when required.
- Work with ITC to provide suppliers with End User Certificates and/or End Use Statements.
- Obtain required approvals prior to export of any CGP or ITAR sensitive data.
- Actively participate in the on-going assessment of procurement related processes and incorporate approved improvements.
What We're Looking For
- College diploma in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
- At least one PMAC course or equivalent.
- 4 years experience in administrative processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated supplier management expertise.
- Solid familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Solid familiarity with SAP or other standard ERP.
- Demonstrated interpersonal savvy with proven ability to build effective relationships with external suppliers and internal colleagues across all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with cold calling, must exude confidence when dealing with new suppliers.
- Prioritize time efficiently, meeting or exceeding commitments in an environment of change and multiple demands.
- Ability to develop a deep understanding of the Excelitas products and core processes.
- Deliver consistently high-quality performance with a strong bias for action and results-orientation.
