HSBC Group is hiring a Business Manager to join our Global Insurance business. In this role, you will support key business initiatives, helping to define strategy, manage stakeholders, and drive process improvements within a collaborative Centre of Excellence (CoE) environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the execution of business initiatives and activities in support of Global Insurance business priorities.
- Assist in the definition of the product strategy & roadmap. Define detailed product features, prioritize backlog, lead sprint planning, and align with other teams & stakeholders.
- Participate in business case preparation and support commercial and financial activities for Global Insurance.
- Support in forums and committees to represent the view of the Global Insurance business as a business subject matter expert (SME).
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in existing processes.
- Support business approvals, marketing, and training collateral for new products & features.
- Assist in the design of customer-focused solutions that factor all customer needs and customer journeys.
- Bring the perspective of staff and colleagues in the design of relevant services and product features.
- Proactively manage and communicate with key stakeholders including Global Insurance, Technology, and WPB teams.
- Adhere to, and demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and implement the Group compliance policy.
- Implement measures to contain compliance risk across Global Insurance by liaising with compliance and fostering a compliance culture.
- Be an ambassador for the CoE team internally, develop networks and find ways to make the CoE increasingly effective, professional and high impact.
- Make decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and business.
What We're Looking For
- A graduate or post-graduate degree.
- Sound skills in analysis and design (UI/CX). Experience in defining detailed features and requirements.
- Strong understanding of Agile with experience in supporting or leading sprint planning and backlog management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communications and interpersonal skills.
- A data driven and result oriented approach with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage senior stakeholders across multiple geographies and various Global Insurance & WPB teams.
- Strong experience in the financial services industry.
- Good understanding of the internal change framework, non-financial risk and the value stream operating model.
- Ability to work proactively in a dynamic and changing environment, where competing priorities are expected as new opportunities arise.
Nice to Have
- Experience using Confluence and Jira.
- A good commercial mindset. Experience in business case preparation is a plus.
- Knowledge in the Insurance domain is a plus.
