LyondellBasell (LYB), a leader in the global chemical industry, is hiring a Business Decision Analyst to support Newco’s senior management. In this role, you will deliver strategic, market, economic, and technology analyses focused on the polyolefins portfolio (HDPE, LDPE, polypropylene, and specialty products). You will evaluate commercial and operational decisions, providing reports and recommendations on profitability, strategic direction, and growth opportunities within a new, agile organization.
What You'll Do
- Meet Long Range Planning, budget, and performance review milestones by providing analytical insights and decision support.
- Develop and maintain intelligence on market and capacity developments, supply/demand trends, competitor profiles, and value chain dynamics.
- Execute first screening of new project opportunities and support Business Directors in pursuing related investments.
- Analyze business performance to identify value creation levers, highlighting opportunities for improved profitability, revenue growth, and cost reduction.
- Support Business Directors in preparing monthly business review reports and presentations for the Leadership Team.
- Provide training, guidance, and functional expertise to improve business efficiencies across the organization.
- Contribute to the dissemination of market intelligence through automated dashboards and tools.
- Actively shape Newco’s processes, tools, and ways of working, supporting initiatives beyond traditional role boundaries.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of current experience in business analysis, strategic planning, financial analysis, or a related analytical role.
- Proven experience supporting commercial and/or operational decision-making in complex, data-intensive environments.
- Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels, balancing long-term thinking with short-term priorities.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or Data Analytics.
- Good understanding of the petrochemical industry, particularly the olefins/polyolefins business.
Team & Environment
You will be part of a new, dynamic organization with around 1,800 employees, collaborating closely with internal teams like Business Finance, Strategic Planning & Transactions, and Manufacturing, as well as external consultants. This role reports to and supports Newco’s senior management.
