AmeriHealth Caritas is looking for a Business Continuity Specialist to help implement our Enterprise Business Continuity Management Program. This mission-driven role builds operational resilience, ensuring we can prepare for, respond to, and recover from business disruptions. You will coordinate the design, development, maintenance, and testing of Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Pandemic Preparedness plans.
What You'll Do
- Research current trends and best practices in business continuity.
- Interpret contractual and regulatory requirements to ensure full compliance with organizational policies and the enterprise risk framework.
- Conduct and document business impact analyses (BIAs) and business continuity risk assessments.
- Support business units in developing and documenting continuity and recovery strategies.
- Drive the development, maintenance, and testing of Business Continuity Plans.
- Support the development, maintenance, and testing of Crisis Management and Pandemic Response Plans.
- Support program management, including policy development, status tracking, training, awareness activities, and reporting.
- Support business continuity role holders, such as Plan Owners and Facilitators.
- Facilitate alignment and coordination with Information Solutions Disaster Recovery, Corporate Security, Corporate Communications, HR, and other key internal stakeholders.
- Participate in and support internal/external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Support leadership in responding to disruptions by implementing plans, participating in crisis meetings, documenting responses, and conducting after-action reviews. This may require work outside of normal business hours.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in business continuity, crisis management, risk management, emergency management, security studies, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3+ years of experience in business continuity/disaster recovery planning, maintenance, and testing.
Nice to Have
- Business Continuity and/or Crisis Management certifications (e.g., ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, CBCI).
- Experience in Project Management.
- General corporate/office work experience conducting administrative or project management tasks.
- Additional experience in business continuity/disaster recovery planning, maintenance, and testing.
- Experience in Medicaid, Medicare, health insurance, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of ISO 22301.
- Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Incident Command System (ICS), and crisis/incident management frameworks.
- Administrator user experience with emergency notification or business continuity planning tools.
