About the Role

Brown & Brown is hiring a Business Analyst, Client Engagement for its National Pharmacy Team (NPT). In this detail-oriented, data-driven role, you will analyze pharmacy claims experience to uncover key takeaways that drive informed client decisions. You will regularly collaborate with account representatives, pharmacists, and industry experts to evaluate trends, build forecasts, and detect patterns.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze PBM pricing proposals, contracts, and claims datasets to support RFPs, prospects, and audits.
  • Maintain and update Excel savings forecast models for side-by-side cost comparisons of PBM vendors.
  • Estimate and model PBM rebate performance based on utilization, formulary positioning, and contract terms.
  • Develop pharmacy budget forecasts using historical claims data, pipeline trends, and plan design inputs.
  • Collaborate with senior consultants to synthesize findings into client-facing presentations and reports.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses on formulary changes, plan design scenarios, and trend drivers like GLP-1 medications.
  • Stay informed on PBM industry trends, policy updates, and pricing dynamics to add context to client deliverables.
  • Manage multiple projects and requests concurrently, prioritizing tasks effectively, sometimes with quick turnaround.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Data Analytics, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in healthcare consulting, pharmacy benefits, health insurance, or data analytics.
  • Pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical data experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, respond quickly to oversight, and develop efficiencies on repeat tasks.
  • Adaptability to changing directions and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong sense of project ownership and the ability to manage a high volume of projects effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytics skills with ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for building collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • A self-directed approach, comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with VBA, SQL, or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with project tracking tools like Wrike, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
  • Adept in all phases of the product development cycle.
  • Broad understanding of business intelligence, reporting, and statistics.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx.
  • Experience working with self-insured employers or benefits consultants.
  • Familiarity with PBM pricing structures and drug trend drivers.
  • Exposure to actuarial methods for pricing or reserving pharmacy claims.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills, including pivot tables, nested formulas, and scenario testing.

You will join the Brown & Brown National Pharmacy Team (NPT), a group of 200+ teammates including pharmacists, client service representatives, actuaries, analysts, data engineers, developers, and care team coordinators. The NPT is organized into Pharmacy Consulting and Analytics, Auditing, and PillarRx Copay Maximization teams.
