Responsibilities
- Establishing and scaling Weir’s presence in Zambia
- Putting the right foundations in place for branch start up through to maturity
- Embedding robust structures, processes and ways of working that enable safe, compliant and sustainable growth across the region
- Playing a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building from the ground up
- Translating strategy into action
- Setting and delivering the territory sales strategy
- Leading business development activity
- Guiding the team to achieve ambitious but achievable growth targets
- Working closely with customers and stakeholders to secure new opportunities
- Leading tender activity
- Expanding Weir’s footprint across mine sites
- Balancing long term planning with on the ground execution
- Leading, coaching and developing a growing sales and technical team
- Ensuring the right capability is in place to support both current demand and future growth
- Positioning resources effectively and investing in development
- Building an engaged, high performing team aligned to Weir’s values, purpose and ways of working
- Holding overall accountability for customer relationships, commercial outcomes and financial performance across the territory
- Conducting contract negotiation
- Managing budgeting and forecasting
- Setting clear, meaningful KPIs
- Championing sustainable performance
- Strengthening tender effectiveness
- Improving ways of working
- Ensuring growth is delivered responsibly, safely and in line with Weir’s long term strategy

Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a senior sales leadership role within the mining industry
- Clear accountability for territory growth and commercial performance
- Proven track record of progressive achievement in mining
- Sustained revenue growth
- Successful market expansion
- Delivery against ambitious targets
- Strong commercial and people leadership capability
- Technical credibility
- Key account management expertise
- Ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing sales and technical teams
- Degree-qualified in Engineering
Nice to Have
- Business qualification preferred
- An MBA or equivalent postgraduate study would be highly regarded
