Birch is looking for a freelance Blog Writer to join our marketing blog team. This role involves creating thought-provoking content that moves beyond basic SEO guides, including interviews with marketers and explorations of creative strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with our team to shape ideas and produce engaging articles that align with our new content direction.
What You'll Do
- Come up with article topic ideas that fit the company's vision and content strategy.
- Write clear, engaging articles that follow our style guide and sound like Birch.
- Collaborate with the blog team (including producer, content manager, SEO specialist, and comms designers) to share ideas and plan content.
- Conduct research, including interviewing marketers, to get to the heart of a topic.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent English, ideally native or close to it.
- Strong writing skills that explore interesting angles, get to the point, and respect the reader's time.
- Experience in company blogging, juggling SEO, business needs, and team input.
- Ability to manage time well, hit deadlines, and work autonomously.
- Curiosity about advertising and marketing.
- Openness to experiments and exploring different content directions.
- Comfortable joining calls and collaborating closely with the team in real time.
Team & Environment
You'll be part of a remote-first team of ~35 people, working within the blog team alongside a producer, comms designers, a content manager, and an SEO specialist. Our team is a spicy mix of different cultures and backgrounds.
