Eurofins Scientific is looking for a Biophysical Characterization Scientist to join our Analytical Development team. In this role, you will support testing non-GMP samples for development studies including comparability assessments, process development, and product characterization. The team is responsible for developing and optimizing analytical methods for RNA drug substances and LNP products.
What You'll Do
- Provide testing support for release and stability testing, product characterization, and analysis of complex raw materials.
- Collect, process, and analyze experimental data, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Review, interpret, and present data within the analytical team and cross-functionally.
- Author, review, and revise technical source documents to support comparability.
- Provide technical oversight to guide analytical investigations.
- Actively collaborate with internal and external process development and quality teams.
- Train and mentor junior team members as needed.
What We're Looking For
- A B.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field with at least 1 year of biotech industry experience, or an M.S. degree with at least 6 months of relevant research experience.
- Experience working with biophysical instrumentation such as HPLC/UPLC and capillary electrophoresis (CE).
- Strong technical background in analytical methodologies using IP-RP, IEX, and AEX.
- Proficiency with Waters and Agilent LCs and software systems like OpenLab, Empower, and ELN.
- Previous experience developing methods for mRNA.
- Familiarity with applicable ICH regulations and compendial guidelines for method validation.
- Experience in assay development, qualification, validation, and transfer to GMP environments.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and balance multiple responsibilities.
- Strong scientific problem solving, learning agility, and written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, creative attitude and an unwavering commitment to safety protocols.
Nice to Have
- Experience with instrumentation like GC, HIAC, and basic particle size characterization fluorescence-based assays.
- A strong understanding of SEC-MALS analytical methodology.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction.
