About the Role
The counselor will work directly with students and families, delivering personalized guidance in both English and a second language, supporting academic planning, emotional well-being, and transition milestones.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students in English and a second language
- Support families navigating academic systems in multilingual settings
- Assist with academic goal setting and progress tracking
- Deliver culturally responsive guidance during student development
- Collaborate with internal teams to align student needs with resources
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and outcomes
- Respond promptly to student and parent inquiries
- Participate in training to stay current on counseling best practices
- Help students prepare for transitions between academic levels
- Identify and address emotional or social challenges affecting learning
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in counseling or related discipline
- Certification in school or mental health counseling
- Experience with college admissions processes
- Knowledge of educational systems in non-English-speaking countries
- Background in crisis intervention or trauma-informed care
