BESIX Group is hiring a BIM Project Manager to join our team in Gent, Belgium. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing assigned BIM projects by meeting allocated time, resource, and budget objectives. You will lead technical resources across disciplines for the duration of a project and ensure applied BIM standards comply with contract terms.
What You'll Do
- Understand the project’s contractual requirements and clearly define the expected BIM scope.
- Define BIM information workflows and key procedures.
- Define required BIM resources and provide training if needed.
- Prepare BIM ICT requirements in terms of software and hardware.
- Establish a BIM schedule aligned with the overall project schedule.
- Estimate and monitor the BIM budget.
- Follow up and support BIM leaders across multiple scopes (Structure, Architecture, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire, Electrical & IT, Communication systems, 3D scanning, QS surveying, Methods and Coordination).
- Serve as the focal point for BIM, internally and with clients, partners, and subcontractors.
- Participate in writing BIM technical requirements and work interface elements for subcontractors.
- Schedule and act as chairman of BIM management and coordination meetings.
- Report to the project’s design manager until the detailed design phase, and to the technical manager from construction documentation until handover.
- Establish BIM progress reports on an agreed frequency.
- Translate the above into a BIM Management plan in collaboration with all stakeholders and ensure its content is followed.
- Apply BIM information workflows and key procedures.
- Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment.
- Maintain and receive information into the Information Model.
- Populate the information exchange format for the Information Model.
- Master IFC format exports and exchange.
- Configure information for project outputs.
- Back up and restore BIM data in collaboration with ICT.
- Provide remote access and access-rights to BIM data to designated stakeholders, including subcontractors and the client.
- Facilitate integral design coordination by model compilation, often assisted by a BIM coordinator.
- Guarantee coherence and quality of BIM models; establish full process/tools for model information QA/QC.
- Validate compliance of BIM models with BIM standards with assistance from BIM Leaders.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s Degree in Construction or Architecture.
- At least 5 years of experience in BIM, having worked as a BIM Manager.
- Aware of the possibilities of the main used modeling software (Revit, Civil 3D, Tekla & ArchiCAD).
- Proficient with the use of BIM Coordination software (Revizto, Navisworks Manage, Solibri Model Checker).
- Proficient with the use of CDE Platforms.
- Able to remain organized under time pressure.
- Can prioritize work demands according to available time and resources.
- Have a good overview of the construction processes and disciplines.
- Have excellent communication skills, both writing and verbal.
- Remain professional in all circumstances.
- Able to make a team perform successfully and give regular and proactive feedback.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
Nice to Have
- BIM experience on a large project (+$25M).
- Extensive knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Docs & Build.
- Extensive knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and good experience in (open) BIM standards like IFC, IDM, IFD, Cobie, BCF.
- Experience with 4D and 5D BIM processes and tools.
- Experience in programming with Grasshopper/Dynamo.
- Knowledge of French.
