Deliver exceptional beverage experiences as a Bartender aboard ASTORIA GRANDE cruise ships, operating in the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, Marmara Sea, and Mediterranean Sea. This role centers on maintaining superior service standards across multiple bars and lounges while ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency in a fast-paced maritime setting.
What You'll Do
- Provide professional, courteous service to guests and crew, maintaining a polished presence at all times.
- Support the Head Bartender in managing daily bar operations, including workflow organization, service oversight, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure all beverage service meets company quality standards and guest expectations.
- Facilitate clear communication within the Food & Beverage team and across departments such as deck and technical services.
- Report operational issues—like equipment malfunctions—to bar management promptly.
- Assist in executing the department’s budget plan, balancing guest experience with cost efficiency.
- Operate POS systems accurately, manage guest tabs, and ensure all sales documentation is properly signed and submitted.
- Generate shift and voyage-end sales reports to support financial tracking and administration.
- Maintain par levels of glassware, silverware, linen, and equipment by following established ordering protocols.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring all service areas are stocked and supplies are managed efficiently.
- Set up and maintain bar stations with correct quantities of spirits, mixers, and tools before each service period.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Fluent in Russian; intermediate-level English proficiency required.
- Valid STCW certification and seafarer’s passport or identity card.
- At least five years of experience in food and beverage service within upscale hotels or cruise environments, with a minimum of three years specifically in bartending.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven ability to lead and support international teams in a diverse, high-pressure setting.
- Familiarity with customer service principles, including guest needs assessment and satisfaction measurement.
- Understanding of human resources policies and team development practices.
- Intermediate proficiency with computer software and POS management systems.
- Ability to remain effective under pressure and adapt to changing operational demands.
