About the Role

Dexterra Group is hiring a Baker/Breakfast Cook to support the remote Waasigan Transmission Line project camp. In this role, you'll work overnight to produce hearty breakfasts and baked goods, ensuring our guests start their day right in a unique camp setting. You will be a key part of the culinary team, contributing to a culture of People Who Care and Work That Matters.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all Covid-19 safety controls.
  • Provide excellent and consistent service for all guests.
  • Prepare all breakfast items efficiently, including eggs, meats, quick breads, baked beans, hot cereals, and scratch baking.
  • Ensure food safety protocols, HACCP logs, and product labeling are completed.
  • Oversee the sandwich maker and front-of-house stocking during breakfast service.
  • Direct and assist team members as the night shift lead to ensure full service scope.
  • Maintain a clean workstation, perform end-of-shift cleaning, and complete scheduled weekly and monthly tasks.
  • Receive and store all supplies, including food, beverage, chemicals, and disposables.
  • Handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive hand work.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience providing high-volume hot breakfast service.
  • Experience producing high-volume baked goods from scratch or pre-fabricated items.
  • A current Food Safe certificate.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID for travel to the remote site.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.

Nice to Have

  • Large-scale cooking and baking experience in camp settings, banquet halls, or hotels.
  • A Red Seal or other culinary certifications.
  • Experience accurately producing weekly inventories.
  • Previous supervisory experience.

Team & Environment

You will report to the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Sous Chef and work closely with the culinary team in a dynamic camp environment.

  • Starting rate of $22.48 per hour.
