South Geeks is looking for a Backend/API Engineer to join the Trading Platform Team. You will help design, build, and maintain robust API endpoints for our high-performance trading platform, collaborating with senior engineers on scalable solutions and system improvements.

What You'll Do

Build performant and reliable API endpoints.
Maintain backward compatibility with existing clients.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Contribute to technical discussions and align solutions with team direction.
Work on both new features and technical improvements following established roadmaps.
Collaborate with teammates via pair programming and knowledge-sharing.
Write comprehensive tests and maintain code quality standards.

What We're Looking For

4–5 years of experience as a professional software engineer.
At least 2 years focused on backend/API services.
Experience building and deploying backend applications for SPAs, mobile apps, or public API consumption using Node.js.
Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, with knowledge of typed languages.
Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, etc.).
Proven ability to write and maintain automated test suites.
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

Experience deploying and maintaining public APIs.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte, Ember).
Experience with gRPC and WebSockets for real-time data.
Advanced SQL experience (MySQL preferred).
Background in high-frequency or algorithmic trading.
Experience in cryptocurrency trading or fintech platforms.
