The position involves backend and integration testing across web, mobile, and backend services within a rapidly scaling educational technology environment. The engineer will ensure quality through systematic validation and active participation in product development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct functional testing with an emphasis on backend components
- Verify connections and data exchange between internal services and third-party systems
- Test end-to-end workflows spanning web interfaces, mobile apps, and backend services, including payments, user authentication, matching logic, push notifications, and messaging
- Examine system logs and performance metrics using tools like Grafana and Sentry
- Identify, document, and monitor bugs using Jira
- Develop and update test documentation in Qase.io, including test cases, checklists, and test plans
- Engage directly in the product development lifecycle
- Participate in discussions to refine QA methodologies and tooling
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in backend testing
- Solid understanding of test case design methodologies
- Proven experience testing integrations between services, including asynchronous communication via message brokers and event streams
- Extensive experience working with RESTful APIs
- Proficiency in SQL with experience in ClickHouse, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with log analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience testing payment processing systems or subscription-based models across platforms
- Understanding of quality assurance at each phase of the software development lifecycle
- Demonstrated responsibility, precision, and focus on delivering results
- Strong written and spoken English skills

- Experience testing mobile applications and web conversion funnels
