Roadsurfer is hiring a Backend Engineer (m/f/d) MarTech - Remote (Germany)

Roadsurfer is looking for a Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to join our MarTech team. In this role, you will focus on building robust integrations and automations between platforms like Braze and Segment. You will own projects end-to-end to deliver innovative, scalable marketing solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design and build backend systems that seamlessly connect Braze, Segment, and our CRM platforms.
• Develop robust APIs and webhooks for internal and external platform integrations.
• Build resilient, event-driven integrations using AWS SNS and SQS to improve fault tolerance.
• Partner with marketing and CRM teams to understand their needs and deliver technical solutions.

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of backend development experience, with a focus on PHP/Symfony.
• Strong expertise in REST APIs and webhooks design and implementation.
• Proficiency with databases, including optimization techniques.
• A self-driven and collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
• Experience translating business needs into technical solutions.
• A commitment to clean code, including SOLID principles and automated testing.

Nice to Have

• Experience with MarTech platforms like Segment or Braze.
• Distributed messaging experience with SNS/SQS.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
• Familiarity with AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.

• Monitoring & Observability: Sentry, Grafana, ELK stack, Prometheus
• Platforms: Braze, Segment, Zendesk Sell
• Development Tools: PHPUnit, PHPStan, PHP-CS-Fixer, Rector, Jenkins, Docker
