Wise is looking for a Backend Engineer to join the Business Operations Tooling team. Your work will define the product and build the tooling that increases operational capacity and enhances the value Wise provides to Business customers. Initial focus areas will include data integration and building alerting mechanisms.

What You'll Do

Build a collection of internal tools, including automated data population in Salesforce and alerting systems for suspended accounts.
Actively participate in the product definition and roadmap for the team.
Export data from internal systems to support tooling and work with API endpoints.
Implement solutions to automate time-intensive operational jobs, reducing the time to serve a business customer.

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in backend development and API design.
Strong hands-on experience with Java (8+) and the Spring Framework.
Deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
A product mindset focused on customer impact, not just technical implementation.
Strong communication skills, working across multiple functions with good conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have

Experience with database technologies and integrating with third-party platforms like Salesforce.
Experience building reliable, scalable internal tools.
A financial background.
