Scale Virtually is hiring a Back End Developer to build streamlined, efficient systems from the ground up. In this role, you will shape architecture and tools in our lean, async-first environment, helping businesses grow through world-class virtual talent.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
- Work with platforms like GoHighLevel, Podio, and WordPress to automate workflows and improve system integration.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to connect interfaces with backend logic.
- Ensure application performance, reliability, and security.
- Build internal tools and automations that support operations and client workflows.
- Write clear, maintainable code and contribute to internal documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Fluent in backend languages (e.g., PHP, Node.js, Python) and comfortable working with APIs and third-party integrations.
- Understand RESTful architecture and database design (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Experience with custom development inside platforms like WordPress or GoHighLevel.
- Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable in an async-first, remote team.
- Thrive in startup environments where priorities shift and speed matters.
