Requirements
- Minimum of five years of hands-on operational experience in IT infrastructure or related fields
- At least three years managing cloud database systems on Azure or Google Cloud Platform, specifically SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Three or more years supporting databases in 24x7 production environments across multiple cloud platforms
- Proven experience with SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services, and T-SQL scripting
- Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision and high accountability
- Adaptability in fast-evolving technical and operational conditions
- Effective multitasking and seamless context switching between concurrent tasks and cross-functional teams
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Python or PowerShell for automation and scripting tasks
- Additional expertise in MySQL or PostgreSQL database management
- Over five years of experience administering SQL Server versions 2008, 2012, or later
- Minimum of two years working with PostgreSQL across various versions as a secondary specialty
- Working knowledge of MySQL, Azure SQL, Managed Instance, and GCP database services
- Extensive experience planning, deploying, maintaining, and diagnosing issues in highly available database setups including Always-On, clustering, and mirroring
- Advanced proficiency in configuring health monitoring and resolving backup, restore, and recovery model issues in SQL environments
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and deliver L2/L3 support during 24x7 operational windows
- Capacity to lead project initiatives independently and conduct proof-of-concept implementations
- Experience maintaining knowledge base entries, problem management records, and standard operating procedures or runbooks
- Hands-on experience managing databases on Google Cloud Platform, including SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL instances
- Background in capacity planning, disaster recovery configuration, and setting up new database environments for SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
- Commitment to delivering responsive and high-quality service to stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities when interacting with internal teams and external clients
- Solid understanding of ITIL principles, Continual Service Improvement, and Total Quality Management frameworks
- Regular reporting to leadership on critical incidents and anomalies, including root cause analysis and resolution recommendations, while coordinating with infrastructure, application, and other teams as needed
