Synchrony is hiring an AVP, Operational Risk Management (ORM) Analytics to enhance the monitoring and reporting capabilities of our Operational Risk programs. You will join the Risk Team, serving as the Second Line of Defense, and will design analytical tools to proactively quantify and monitor risks.

What You'll Do

Analyze complex data sets from multiple sources to develop reporting and monitoring for ORM programs and RCSA.
Use data and analytics to support the closure of critical, time-sensitive projects like regulatory requests and matters requiring attention (MRA).
Partner with the Risk Analytics Team to deliver optimal, efficient analytical solutions.
Develop and maintain consistent management reporting and dashboards to inform the second line of defense (2LOD) of the risk profile and trends.
Develop, present, and explain the value of proposed solutions to ORM leaders and stakeholders.
Deliver executive messaging to support committee and other reporting needs.
Perform special projects regarding ORM activities, which may require research, analysis, and presentation to leadership.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years’ experience in a consumer operational risk analytics role; or, in lieu of a degree, 6+ years’ experience in consumer credit/risk analytics.
4+ years of hands-on experience with one or more data analytics tools: Python, R, SAS, SQL, SPARK, or Hadoop.
Experience with Tableau or other visual analytics tools like PowerBI or SAS VIYA.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proven ability to deliver analytical solutions for business problems.
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel.

Nice to Have

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM-related or Business field.
MBA or Master’s degree in a STEM field.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, organize workflow, and meet timelines.
Experience with automation in a command line environment, or with SAS or Python.
Experience working with data related to Operational Risk Oversight.
Working knowledge and experience with GenAI in the workspace.
Elevated aptitude in deciphering analytical documentation and translating it into independently created logic.
Experience working alongside multi-location teams.
Strong oral and written communication skills with impact and influence.
Effective and collaborative across teams and functions.
