Lincoln Financial seeks an AVP, Group Benefits Claims to provide operational leadership and strategic execution for the Group Protection Claims Organization. You will be responsible for the overall direction of an STD and Leave organization, driving strategies that enhance customer experience and improve business outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives impacting organizational success and customer experience.
- Maintain knowledge on current and emerging trends, implementing industry best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze metrics and control mechanisms to improve results through process improvements.
- Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing transformational change management.
- Identify and direct strategic process improvements that drive efficiency and improve quality.
- Develop and maintain close customer ties, articulate customer needs, and keep priorities aligned with expectations.
- Approve and make complex management-related financial decisions consistent with company guidelines.
- Direct the processing and administration of all aspects of claims for STD and Leaves ensuring accurate and timely management.
- Ensure claims processing is consistent with applicable policies, procedures, and department guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery service.
- Develop, manage, and oversee the budget for your organization.
What We're Looking For
- A 4-Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
- 10+ years of experience in Claims directly aligning with the specific responsibilities for this position.
- 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, or demonstrated leadership experience, including influencing senior management and critical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong transformational leadership skills, including the critical ability to develop and execute operational change impacting people, process, and technology.
- Ability to think critically, analyze information, evaluate implications, and make decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders, with a proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
- Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Previous STD and Leave product knowledge and leadership.
- Experience in small and regional group insurance markets.
