Amentum is seeking an Automotive Worker (PREPO) to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of minor repairs and maintenance services to keep motor vehicles operational. You will apply your knowledge of basic vehicle systems to ensure work is completed correctly and safely.

What You'll Do

Place and maintain decals on vehicles.
Check and replace batteries.
Rotate, repair, and replace tires.
Wash, polish, and clean vehicle interiors and exteriors.
Drain, flush, and replace engine, transmission, and differential grease and oils.
Check, clean, calibrate, and replace spark plugs.
Clean and replace oil and air filters.
Adjust brakes and replace windshield wipers and similar minor parts.
Assist on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts.
Repair components such as generators and water pumps.
Replace thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items.
Maintain tools and equipment, and clean work areas.
Perform all work in accordance to the applicable Technical Manual for the vehicle and work assigned.
Recognize and know proper usage of a variety of automotive tools.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of experience and specific knowledge in vehicle maintenance either through schooling or verifiable on the job experience.
Must have or be able to obtain site forklift and other licenses/certifications.
Must have a valid and current state driver’s license.
Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals.
Must be able to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice to Have

Maintenance and repair of military tactical vehicles, as well as lawn mower (push, riding, zero turn), ATV, side by side, HMMWV, light wheeled trailers.
ASE and/or Diesel Mechanic Certifications.
Experience in field repairs and recovery.

Work Mode

This position is onsite.
