Bose Corporation is seeking an Automotive Software Delivery Senior Manager to lead our regional Software Delivery teams in Japan. This role is pivotal in aligning with OEM roadmaps to deliver world-class audio solutions. You will manage a team of 30+ Software Development Engineers, ensuring both project execution and technical excellence to foster customer satisfaction and business growth within a culture built on innovation, excellence, and independence.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of 30+ Software Development Engineers across Software Requirements & Architecture, Control Software, and DSP to deliver audio solutions to multiple Japanese OEMs.
- Lead the regional Software Delivery teams to align with the OEM roadmap for Automotive Engineering in Japan.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, partners, and internal teams to develop comprehensive project plans, focusing on seamless software integration into vehicle programs.
- Be accountable for software project execution excellence, proactively managing resource constraints and conflicts to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Drive SW technical excellence with OEMs and partners to enhance our capacity to provide outstanding experiences.
- Ensure the Software Team’s technical excellence in requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, and issue resolution, maintaining ASPICE Compliance.
- Align Bose Automotive Japan software development plans using Agile methodology to deliver the right customer value at the right time.
- Manage alignment with customers and partners, including deliverables negotiation and software maturity tracking and reporting.
- Be a key leader in the agile process, fostering collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and transparency.
- Represent the voice of the customer for Japan Software within the Bose organization.
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of architecting and delivering high-performance automotive software products.
- 5+ years of senior management experience, including building, leading, and mentoring large technical engineering teams.
- Mastery of C/C++ coding skills and active coding oversight for the last five years in embedded software development.
- Experience interacting with customers, senior executives, and business leaders.
- Proven track record in orchestrating and executing large-scale automotive software projects using Agile methodologies.
- Proficient in recognizing, evaluating, and proactively managing software project risks to ensure on-time, on-budget, and in-scope delivery.
- Proficient in leading teams through structured software development processes, including experience with ASPICE assessments.
- Proficient in using tools relevant to software development and integration within the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration on a global scale with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in navigating RFI/RFQ phases, including response preparation and customer engagement to secure business.
- Strong comprehension of software development from low-level programming to realtime operating systems (RTOS).
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in both English and Japanese is required.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in QNX, Linux, or Android.
- Automotive industry background in an OEM or Tier 1 company, with prior customer-facing technical role experience.
- Master’s degree.
- Additional certifications or training in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
