Farmers Insurance is looking for an Auto Desk Adjuster to join our team. You will be responsible for investigating, confirming coverage, determining liability, establishing damages, and negotiating settlements for auto claims. These include single and multi-vehicle losses with basic coverage and moderate complexity of liability. What You'll Do
- Investigate and determine liability for auto claims with basic coverage issues and moderate to complex liability.
- Perform in-depth investigation and analysis on losses, including multi-vehicle accidents with comparative negligence.
- Complete investigations by securing recorded statements, police reports, vehicle photos, estimates, and scene details.
- Make same-day contact with customers to explain the claims process and applicable coverage benefits.
- Confirm facts of loss, determine vehicle location and drivability, and offer repair and rental service options.
- Coordinate auto physical damage estimates through internal inspection methods and manage vehicle releases.
- Proactively investigate and determine coverage for claims requiring in-depth analysis.
- Maintain ownership of the claim, serving as the primary point of contact through resolution with limited supervision.
- Communicate and collaborate with other claim specialists to facilitate customer claim resolution.
- Communicate policy risk issues to Underwriting and escalate complex coverage matters.
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge and application of venue laws for all states handled.
- Analyze duties owed and breached by potentially responsible parties to determine liability percentages.
- Recognize subrogation potential and make referrals to the Subrogation department.
- Investigate and recognize all potential claim exposures, escalating non-auto property damage issues.
- Resolve auto physical damage claims proactively, securing estimates of damages in a timely manner.
- Write, review, and adjust auto physical damage estimates for vehicles with minor to moderate damages.
- Issue and authorize claim payments and explain the repair process and estimates to customers.
- Manage rental claims through communication with customers, repair facilities, rental vendors, and specialists.
- Proactively manage and mitigate vehicle storage costs.
- Coordinate with auto physical damage and total loss specialists to facilitate claim resolution.
- Maintain an active diary and resolution plan on open files, handling them in regulatory compliance.
- Ensure professional correspondence is sent to customers, including claim status updates.

Compensation: $25.37 - $36.48 per hour plus annual bonus.
Work Mode
This is a hybrid position based in one of the following locations: Kansas City, Grand Rapids, St. Louis, or Oklahoma City.
