BioPak is looking for an Australian Tax Accountant to join our team. In this remote role, you will be responsible for tax compliance, client file management, and providing support to senior accountants. You'll work independently on compliance tasks while following practice procedures and maintaining clear communication. What You'll Do
- Review tax planning, notes, handover notes, and trust resolutions.
- Prepare clear and accurate workpapers in line with practice procedures.
- Work independently on compliance work and seek assistance from the Senior Accountant as needed.
- Undertake self-review to ensure work meets high standards within the job budget.
- Attend team calls with the Senior Accountant for post-job review discussions.
- Finalize jobs and email them back to the senior accountant after team calls.
- Update workflow with clear notes when job status changes.
- Maintain organized and accurate client files per procedures.
- Attend weekly workflow meetings and communicate job priorities.
- Provide general support to senior accountants as required.
- Follow instructions and complete tasks within agreed timeframes.
- Learn from review points and mistakes to avoid repetition.
- Attend training sessions and participate in developing technical knowledge.
- Keep up to date with relevant tax and accounting developments.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in accounting or a related field.
- At least 5 years of total Australian tax accounting experience.
- Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A good attitude to learn and develop professionally.
- Willingness to ask questions and understand the reasons for review points.
- Commitment to ongoing education and training regarding Australian tax requirements and accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounting software like Xero, MYOB, or ACESS.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- A positive, professional attitude and team-oriented mindset.
