Hunt St is seeking an AU Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with Australian regulatory requirements, and supporting our broader financial operations.
What You'll Do
- Maintain accurate financial records including journals, ledgers, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), and payroll tax submissions.
- Ensure timely calculation and submission of GST, PAYG, and superannuation obligations.
- Assist with end-of-financial-year (EOFY) reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting.
- Process payroll, manage leave entitlements, and ensure compliance with Fair Work and SuperStream standards, including Single Touch Payroll (STP).
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget tracking.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and documentation for external accountants or auditors.
- Provide insights to management on financial performance and suggest improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting within the Australian context.
- Solid knowledge of Australian taxation laws, BAS/IAS, and payroll regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Proficiency in Xero.

Benefits & Compensation
- Monthly compensation: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD.
