About the Role

TD Insurance is hiring an Associate Investment Advisor to provide dedicated support to a lead Investment Advisor or a team. In this role, you will act on their behalf to deliver advice, manage client relationships, and support business development, helping to achieve both client financial goals and business objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the client base, understanding client needs and delivering appropriate products and services.
  • Provide high-quality investment advice across a full range of registered and non-registered products, including equities and fixed income.
  • Demonstrate financial planning expertise to produce high-quality plans through a well-developed Investment and Wealth Planning process.
  • Solve moderately complex problems, exercise judgment, and work within broad guidelines to independently perform tasks from end to end.
  • Oversee projects or work streams within broader projects and provide mentorship.
  • Refer clients and collaborate with other TD areas such as TD Canada Trust and TD Securities.
  • Direct support staff in the professional and personable delivery of client service.
  • Assist in achieving business goals by attracting, acquiring, and retaining customers and referrals.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
  • Monitor service quality and productivity and implement continuous improvement.
  • Keep current on emerging trends and keep others informed on work status and progress.
  • Participate fully as a team member, support a positive professional team environment, and assist, coach, and guide others.

What We're Looking For

  • An Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma.
  • Over 3 years of experience working directly with, or in support of, the wealth management needs of clients.
  • Licensed with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) as a Registered Representative (RR) and maintain license in good standing.
  • Required to complete Wealth Management Essentials (WME) within 18 months of start date.
  • Insurance licensed (LLQP) or willingness to do so within 1 year.
  • Robust conceptual and practical knowledge within an area of expertise and in broader areas.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work confidentially, independently, and in a team.

Nice to Have

  • A professional designation such as Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM), Certified Financial Accountant (CFA), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
