Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX Corporation, is hiring an Associate Director, Contracts to lead contracting for our Precision Strike and Mission Integrated Systems (PS and MIS) product lines. In this remote role, you will manage the pursuit and execution of critical defense products and services, including programs like Paveway®, Maverick, Griffin, HARM, and international C4I, for domestic and international customers. You’ll provide strategic leadership across the contract lifecycle, from front-end assessment and negotiation to execution and customer relationship management.
What You’ll Do
- Engage in front-end strategic assessment of bids and proposals, identifying significant financial, technical, or schedule risks while supporting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives.
- Develop and implement customer engagement and negotiation strategies for successful contract execution.
- Negotiate directly with DoD and international customers, building trusting relationships internally and externally.
- Coach, manage, and strategically lead an organization of approximately 6 contracting professionals.
- Handle all contract duties to achieve program and business area objectives.
- Lead coordination on payment issues to ensure compliant and timely payment in support of AOP.
- Deploy strong interpersonal skills and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve Program objectives.
- Travel domestically or internationally as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience.
- Experience managing, administering, and negotiating contracts/subcontracts under the FAR/DFARS with U.S. and international customers.
- Experience reporting on contract performance to Contracts and Program stakeholders.
- Experience supervising dispersed or remote teams.
- Experience with compliance processes such as Export/Import (EXIM), Truth in Negotiation Act (TINA), and transactional due diligence.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated influential people leadership and cross-functional leadership ability within a geographically dispersed team.
- MBA or JD.
- Contract management certification (e.g., NCMA or WorldCC).
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance.
- Track record of success in contracting with the Department of Defense, with Foreign Military Sales (FMS), including terms and conditions, FAR/DFARS, Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) process, Undefinitized Contract Actions (UCAs), and risk mitigation.
- Experience with large competitions or Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) contracts, preferably with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, NATO, South Korea, and other international partners.
