Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Mutual Insurance Company is hiring an Associate Corporate Auditor to support the internal audit function. In this role, you will assist in conducting operational, financial, and compliance audits and reviews for BCBSM, its subsidiaries, and external vendors and contractors.
What You'll Do
- Assist in conducting audits and reviews, including identifying risks, evaluating controls, testing procedures, writing reports, and conducting exit conferences.
- Assist in various corporate projects to assess control environments, working within assigned time and budget deadlines under close supervision.
- Participate in 1-2 divisional or departmental infrastructure projects per year.
- Assist in communicating audit and project results to management, including senior leadership.
- Maintain knowledge of auditing principles, methodologies, BCBSM policies, group contracts, and standards like those from the Institute of Internal Auditors.
What We're Looking For
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, conflict resolution, time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A medium level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, fax machines, copiers, and printers.
- Ability to work independently within a team environment.
- Ability to effectively interface with operating management at all levels.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field, to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
- Two years of related work experience, including eighteen months of experience in accounting or auditing work.
