WSP USA Inc. is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of complex cooling and HVAC systems for mission-critical data center environments. You will direct projects and mentor a team of engineers within our collaborative and recognized workplace.
What You'll Do
- Produce high-quality technical and professional deliverables for projects and proposals.
- Design complex, large-scale air distribution and hydronic systems for data centers.
- Design building automation control systems and specifications for major air and heat rejection systems.
- Work within multi-discipline teams to develop drawings and specifications for clients and contractors.
- Attend and lead client meetings, communicating complex engineering concepts.
- Direct mechanical engineering requirements and integrate them into facility designs.
- Collaborate with internal project teams and external equipment vendors.
- Act as the lead mechanical engineer, directing the project team.
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers.
- Perform project management, including writing proposals, establishing budgets, and managing client interactions.
- Coordinate technical development, scheduling, and resolve engineering design issues.
- Survey and evaluate existing conditions and perform construction administration.
What We're Looking For
- Proven history in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with a focus on mechanical building systems.
- 10+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for high-performing commercial, industrial, or mission-critical/data center buildings.
- Experience mentoring and training others in the field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact well with others and contribute to high-quality project deliverables.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and applicable codes.
Nice to Have
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis for interior and exterior airflow.
- Specific Mission Critical/Data Center experience.
- Experience with international projects and knowledge of international codes and standards.
