UT Health Science Center BU is seeking a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Economics to join the School of Business within the College of Business and Global Affairs. This role involves teaching, research, and service responsibilities and offers the chance to contribute to a recently expanded and modernized curriculum.
What You'll Do
- Teach four courses each semester across multiple formats, including face-to-face and online instruction.
- Maintain an active research and service agenda.
- Teach a variety of economics courses typical of a 4-year AACSB accredited program, potentially including principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, introductory economic data courses, econometrics, and managerial economics.
- Contribute to shaping the recently expanded and modernized economics curriculum.
- Participate in curriculum development, advising, and assessment activities.
- Pursue summer teaching opportunities available for extra compensation.
What We're Looking For
- An earned doctorate (PhD) in Economics or be ABD with the expectation of PhD completion within one year of the hire date.
- Evidence of effective undergraduate classroom teaching.
- A demonstrated pipeline of academic research.
- Ability to submit a complete online application including cover letter, teaching philosophy statement, research goals statement, CV, unofficial transcripts, and three references.
Nice to Have
- Experience in applied microeconomics fields.
