The University Health Network is hiring an Assistant Professor at The Michener Institute to provide academic leadership and teaching in Diagnostic Cytology. You will be responsible for fostering an effective learning environment and upholding professional standards.
What You'll Do
- Provide academic leadership, foster an effective learning environment, and uphold all professional, provincial, and national standards.
- Utilize innovative teaching techniques to facilitate learning in Diagnostic Cytology, with potential for other subjects based on departmental need.
- Evaluate student progress and achievement, providing advisement and remedial assistance.
- Liaise with other faculty, staff at The Michener Institute, and personnel at affiliated clinical sites.
- Participate in internal committees.
What We're Looking For
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) with a minimum of six years' experience and in-depth expertise in diagnostic cytology.
- Capability to teach introductory and advanced classes and labs in cytotechnology.
- Bachelor of Science in a related field.
- Good standing with relevant professional associations: CSMLS and CMLTO.
- Licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologist of Ontario (CMLTO).
- Skill in various teaching approaches and innovations including online/hybrid delivery modes.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with MS Office, presentation, and curriculum design software.
- Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance documents required upon hire.
Nice to Have
- Experience working or teaching in the field within the last 12 months.
