Matse, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering within the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, seeks applicants for a tenure-line faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of electroceramic materials processing. The successful candidate will establish an internationally recognized research program and educate the next generation of materials scientists.
What You'll Do
- Develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program.
- Teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Contribute to service within the university and the profession.
- Advance interdisciplinary research and serve as a collaborative leader (for Associate Professor rank).
What We're Looking For
- A Ph.D. in materials science and engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
- Strong potential for developing an externally funded experimental or computational research program that strengthens Matse’s core interdisciplinary research areas.
- Demonstrated interest in and ability to educate and mentor students, advise graduate students, teach courses across Matse undergraduate and graduate programs, and contribute service to the Department, College, and University.
Nice to Have
- Research focus on the processing of electroceramic materials that can complement or expand upon existing departmental strengths.
- For Associate Professor: Excellence in teaching and mentoring, a strong research and publication track record, and an established reputation in scholarly or professional achievement.
