Gap Inc. is looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Old Navy Franchise team. In this role, you will own and support pre-season merchandise strategies, driving seasonal product plans to meet specific market needs. You'll be accountable for delivering annual financial goals, supporting the execution of the Franchise Market, and representing franchise needs in key brand meetings.
What You'll Do
- Support the execution of the seasonal Franchise Market, including sample management, and partner with cross-functional teams (Planning, Marketing, Visual) to develop and execute necessary tools.
- Ensure franchise merchandising systems are properly maintained and all changes are made in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams (Design, Global Merchandising, Planning, Production, Brand Planning, Franchise Partners).
- Identify in-season strategies where needed and provide timely direction to global merchandising; liaise directly on all responsive levers like monthly bookings and chase.
- Analyze the business by conducting seasonal midsight and hindsight reporting to inform future line development and merchandising strategies; review weekly selling reports to make informed product takeaways.
- Build strong, commercially viable Franchise seasonal assortments, including international exclusive styles.
- Present and sell assortments to franchise partners, influencing them to buy the most appropriate seasonal assortment to achieve financial goals and ensure strong brand representation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-2 years of Merchandising, Buying, or Wholesale experience.
- Strong strategic and analytical ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at presenting information and storytelling.
- Ability to align with, collaborate with, and influence cross-functional partners and peers.
- High level of attention to detail while focusing on topline business impact.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, shifting tasks, and timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook); ability to create pivot tables and use advanced formulas like VLOOKUP.
