Absa Bank is looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in driving branch performance through sales, service delivery, and operational excellence. As a proudly African group, we are empowering Africa's tomorrow, together.
What You'll Do
- Support the Branch Manager in managing branch performance through sales origination, lead generation, and excellent customer service.
- Fulfill individual sales targets and promote products to both existing and prospective customers to grow market share.
- Assist in daily branch operations, including customer service, finance activities, and vault management.
- Manage the customer experience, proactively resolve complaints, and ensure excellent service delivery.
- Monitor branch financial activities, review reports, and ensure all cash processes are handled accurately.
- Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and a deep understanding of branch policies and processes.
- Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies to deepen product penetration and increase cross-selling.
- Provide ongoing coaching, share knowledge, and enhance staff engagement to build a high-performing team.
- Support the Performance Development Process, identify team training needs, and manage staff leave and attendance.
- Ensure operational rigour and full compliance with all legislation, regulatory guidelines, and internal Absa policies.
- Manage branch security standards and act as a Business Continuity Management (BCM) Business Unit Owner or Deputy.
- Work cross-functionally with key service providers and deputise for the Branch Manager as required.
What We're Looking For
- A Higher Certificate or Advanced National (Vocational) Certificate in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Branch Manager, supporting the leadership and daily operations of the branch.
Work Mode
This role is fully onsite.
