Lam Research is looking for an Assembler 3 to play a vital role in assembling complex wafer fabrication equipment (WFE). You will work in a lean manufacturing clean-room environment using insights, hand tools, and computer-based instructions to install parts and hardware while holding precise tolerances.
What You'll Do
- Use instructions, schematics, hand tools, and fixtures to assemble and install parts for wafer fabrication equipment.
- Demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities and rework requirements to maintain production schedules.
- Ensure correct part delivery and perform visual inspections of components before installation.
- Contribute to audits by conducting visual inspections, verifying checklists, and performing leak checks.
- Cross-train in multiple work centers such as Final Assembly, Sub Assembly, Feeder Bay, Preship, and NPI.
- Train other assemblers on specific job functions and role model continuous improvement behaviors.
- Identify and document Non-Conformance Items (NCIs), escalating to engineering as needed.
- Support a safe work environment by following safe work practices, using PPE, and adhering to LOTO policies.
- Provide timely, clear communication to stakeholders on production status, tasks completed, and continuous improvement ideas.
What We're Looking For
- 2-4 years of mechanical or related assembly experience.
- An Associate’s Degree, Technical Certificate, or Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency in computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
- Frequent physical positioning (bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, twist, squat, kneel, climb, stand) to perform job tasks.
- Ability to move parts and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish various wires by color, size, thickness, and markings.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or in the semiconductor capital equipment industry.
