Carrier is seeking an Apprentice HVAC Service Technician in Glasgow to learn and gain hands-on experience in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, with the goal of qualifying as a fully certified HVAC Service Technician. This field-based role offers structured learning, on-site training, and support towards achieving industry-recognised qualifications.
What You'll Do
- Learn and understand the refrigeration/air conditioning industry with the aim of qualifying as a HVAC Service Technician
- Attend regular release to Glasgow Kelvin College to study the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps qualification
- Work on a range of HVAC equipment from smaller water and air side products to large commercial and industrial chilled water and heat pump systems
- Attend and participate in customer site visits, shadowing one of the qualified Technicians
- Learn about refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Work on fans and air handling equipment
- Help troubleshoot and support technically challenging breakdowns, both in person and remote
- Work on sequencing and control panels
- Work on pumps and water hydraulics and hydronics
- Learn about digital control systems and basic BMS (Building Management Systems)
What We're Looking For
- Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English, Maths, Science and ICT OR Engineering
- Full UK driving licence
- Good written English
- Computer literate and know the basics on Microsoft Office
- Confident and articulate
