The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hiring an Appointment Business Center Scheduler III. This role is central to our mission of improving patient care by managing appointment coordination within a call center environment. You will be a key point of contact, ensuring efficient access to healthcare services for our patients.
What You'll Do
- Schedule, reschedule, coordinate, and cancel patient appointments.
- Input and update accurate patient information.
- Answer telephones in a professional and friendly manner, demonstrating effective communication skills.
- Communicate accurate and complete information to patients and colleagues.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Deal with conflicts professionally using careful listening and service recovery skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Three (3) years of customer service experience, preferably in registration, billing, or scheduling within a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Intermediate proficiency with computers (MS Office Suite preferred).
- Basic keyboard and telephone etiquette skills.
- General knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with the EPIC system.
- Call center experience.

- Compensation: $16.33/hr ($33,966.40 yr)
